I bet y’all are like, ‘oooo wifi off day how snazzy of you Xtine‘.. well yah, wifi off day existed 2 days ago aaaaaand I loved it. ‘Have you.. (paused) got the pigs in blanket??’ my boyfriend asked with a hint of certainty its not in the bag.. Me: ‘errrrm, (thinking fack felicia not again.. another thing I forgot today.. Sorry, I replied embarrassingly, erm my brain totally forgot!!’
pssh bisssh, the amount of tabs you’ve opened on me, obviously overloaded with bullshit, don’t blame me feliciaa.. (!)
Me: Sorry babe, I’ll get it next time.. knowing full well it’s because I have typically overloaded my brain with too many unnecessary tabs (in my mind) ft on my laptop/phone.. taking in too much info in one go brain overload; internet can be an encumber.
Stupid things/forgetful things -same thing, can happen when you don’t detox. Opening a truck door on the motorway instead of pulling in a mirror, (yes I accidentally opening a fricken truck door on the motorway..) Embarringly, it was hard to get back in ahahahah.. I knew it wasn’t coffee or the lack of, I actually had 3 that day fyi, it wasn’t because I worked myself till death so many hours and days these past two months (I’v done it before), it is because I was consumed with too much internet crap, consistently, every fricken hour or so.. It became apparent I can’t go few hours without being online. there I have said it. Unlike most people who claim they can go all day without (they lie), I can’t.
A fresh mind:
It’s endless, one minute I know exactly what weights cliftonclifton is doing on instagram to calculating how much one agencies owes me, plus travel- to filing down to the nail my casting profile to a director. That’s just 1% of it, it is TOO MUCH. So on my first day off of this month (June) which was Sunday 16th, I know; I worked 16 days in a row.. jeeeesus; I wanted to switch off,
internet wise/techonology wise, people wise, human life wise every bloody connection real or not wise!!!!!!. I felt refreshed this week, certainly out of gossip/bullshit emails/replies etc etc. A refreshed mind is what I needed. I spent quality time with my boyfriend, cooked up a storm (sunday roast), read a book and relaxed. It was perfect.
I am not merely telling you to switch off completely for a whole day, maybe you can’t it’s impossible, but try it for a few hours a day then gradually you’ll see big changes, mentally, psychically, emotionally and spiritually. Immediately predict what you can get done in an hour or so without wifi, you’ll soon realise you have more than enough time left! Less procrastinating, discombobulated and being easily distracted by a notification bleeep, more you time and getting things done- with a fresh mind! Turn it off, you may feel nervous but trust me it’ll be one of the best decisions you’ve made in a while!!!!
You’ll see life for what it is and you’ll only understand it when you turn off wifi! Have a wifi day off..
