It is evident health is important to me; what I put into my body will always equate to how I feel, how I look and how I perform. As an individual with an active lifestyle, I am always on the go which means a lot of healthy homemade foods and not so healthy but very convenient snacks, this is this is why I enjoy Swisse Me smoothies!
The challenge is constantly being aware of what type of foods and snacks I have in a day and honestly 70% per cent of the time I do stick to the healthier option, but when I don’t I see an opposite side which I don’t like. I feel fatigued, clumsy, unmotivated and drained when I do not stick to the healthier option. When I opt for the healthier option I feel on top of the world, energetic, always on the ball and super self motivated, I even impress myself with how productive I’ve been during the day and evening. Working in events mean I am always at a new location (where it isn’t always easy to grab something healthy) and running around (short on time) . In order to stick to a healthy lifestyle I make sure I prep and bring healthy delicious snacks with me so theres no excuse, no matter what the situation is. My ideal snack would include fruits, vegetables, collagen and vitamins, minerals- the lot! As someone with IBS, I had decided to document what I ate in the past month to identify which foods have a positive response; this year I solely want to focus on healthy foods which give me an energy boost and maintain it.
Swisse Me aims to energise you throughout the day with delicious and nutritious ‘go-to snacks’.
“It is Australia’s No 1 vitamin and supplements brand- the health and wellness company with a mission to help people celebrate life every day.”
Firstly, I am already familiar with their ingredients, so that was a first bonus. I already excited to try them but in a mixed smoothie; their combinations were really delicious and I loved the fact they’ve included minerals and collagen into the packs! Finally, theres a product which ticks all my boxes! Swisse Me includes vegan, gluten free and lactose free options. It is the perfect snack to fit into my laptop bag, pockets, handbag, you name it!
Here is a breakfast recipe idea which can be done in under 10 minutes, quick and simple- feel free to add your favourite fruits!
First recipe: Breakfast Boss!
Swisse me (START ME CHIA) with blueberries! (I am obsessed blueberries)
- 1 cup of oats (I’ve opted for scottish oats)
- 1 cup oat milk
- 1 cup water
- Pinch of lemon (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Desired toppings (such as sliced almonds, chia seeds or fresh fruit)
Combine oats, milk, water, into saucepan. I drink oat milk and as part of veganuary, its vegan!
Step 2 Add 2 cups of cold water and boil for 1 minute. It should look quite thicker around the sides and change colour slightly
Step 3- Turn down heat from high to medium, then add in mixture. Once you see a few bubbles around the outside then reduce the heat again, to low.
Step 4 –Simmer uncovered for 3 to 6 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Step 4 Place mixture into bowl. Drizzle golden syrup on top and add your desired fruit!
I have added the START ME – CHIA Breakfast Blend, which include apple, strawberry, raspberry and blueberries! There is no added sugar and tastes like heaven! Add your favourite toppings over the Swisse Me and you are good to go! I would personally add half to the smoothie bowl, but feel free to add the whole pack in!
