I had a fabulous Saturday at Glorias’ how was yours?! I don’t remember the last time I was out on a Saturday (during midday-evening) at a bar/restaurant! Thankfully, I had an invite to Blame Gloria, so the long overdue day of fun (out of my bubble) was reinstalled into my life! (Much needed) As bars and restaurants have reopened, I couldn’t of asked for a better opportunity to enjoy my time with my brother and just dress up indulging ourselves with free flowing proseccond dancing to our favourite top hits (music definitely delivered)!
Oh Gloria, you absolute queeeeen…
Who’s Gloria? Apparently “Gloria” was the bad girl of the70s(aha!) 80s/party scene. Gloria rubbed shoulders and partied hard with Jimi Hendrix (amazing?!), and had even showed Bowie how to achieve that perfect going out look – I don’t feel bad for showing skin there, now!
I instantly gathered this underground sparkly instagrammable venue was going to throw some sass dance moves my way! The atmosphere was definitely a fun party scene; the glitter walls, TV mirror screens, flower wall interiors and strobe vibrant lights screamed its time to have F-U-N.
The drag queens were tremendous, 5* Their sassy ‘get up with my sister and DANCE vibe’ was incredible, their random funny bingo session, their friendly approach made the whole experience worth it!? We were seated at the end of the strip in the first room. Although it was a ‘cosy’ set up per say, I would have preferred if there was more space as I felt a bit claustrophobic and/ or at least if they had mini dance floor as there were too many seats and tables situated which didn’t match the ‘dance vibe’. We had two choices, vegetation burger or meat with fries, we had chosen the latter. The food wasn’t outstanding (fine dining), but it was acceptable and arrived quickly (points for quick service); we enjoyed the prosecco but felt the cocktail could of had a wow factor to it. One thing I’d point out, to have complete transparency : the staff seemed extremely rushed off their feet(sometimes three staff members ran up and down quite a lot and the attitude seemed off, which didn’t fit the vibe; and weren’t attentive, we had to kindly ask an important question serval times. The table further up from us who had a massive party also notified everyone about this too, so it wasn’t just us who thought it. Apart from that no problems!
The music and drag queens refocused on our thought from the small space, which I guess, in retrospect made the experience different. I have never seen drag queens in person nor have I danced with one, so that was very interesting! Overall, I would recommend it for the free flowing prosecco (wish we had more but I rarely drink and one cocktail + few glasses of pro was enough for me!) drag queens and the music! Loved the interior so much, my brother and I took LOADs of photos! I would give it a 4/5..
This was an invitation, free tickets and food/drink to experience, but all thoughts and opinions are my own!
Thanks for the invite and I would definitely come back again off my own accord as it was fun!!!
