Hey lovelies,

Happy New Year!

I have decided to jump on to the bang wagon, of, ‘amazing products I love every month’ (very) late, I know, but to add even two (for now) favourite products a month on XTINELOVES which I feel will benefit you, my friends, is what you should expect! Wahey.. Anyways..

Adamant skincare will always be one of my priorities in life; I’m obsessed with skincare; I suffered from extreme eczema as a child into my late teens, just before I went to University, I struggled with my skin.. Until age 18- 19 my skin became comely, ‘normal’,  equanimous and difficulties disappeared.. From that point onwards, I became extremely obsessed with keeping it ‘normal looking..;, a psychological effect (???) maybe, but my skincare regime and routines are heavily influenced based on my traumatic skin experience, which effectively in hindsight gave me a route to amazing skin for my age! I know, it’s strange for a just turned 25 year old to be obsessed with skincare, because hey, without it I look like a new feotus aha. But I am and probably even more aware of it as when I stayed at my partners

A lot of people, not to humblebrag, but are almost amazed at how my skin looks at 25.. so I try to give my advice as much as possible, when needed and mention which products I am currently using to friends and family.. But, lets not forget exercise and healthy foods play a huge part too! Anyways, enough of the chitchat, basically I love skincare products!

I have a weird obsessed and addiction to find out what’s new and trending, even though most trends are not alined to what I actually like, it’s fun to see what’s out and about.. I always venture out to shops to look at what’s new and ‘trending’, and almost everywhere, unless you’ve been under a rock, charcoal is insanley popular. It is the up and coming ingredient.. From inside skincare, to teeth products, you’ll eventually notice it, on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter,  the’s trending all over..

Risible. Charcoal can be a ‘quick fix’: for whiter teeth, illuminate skin by removing impurities and now situated in our favourite foods. Charcoal in pizza anyone?.. (Nah), same.. how crazy.

Is charcoal the new black?! As stated online, ““In my view, this claim is a good marketing gimmick to absorb the maximum of cash from gullible consumers.” Is it really a gimmick? I decide to test it out!

Guys these two products are literally life changing   have proven to show clear signs of difference within days.. literally days! Unbelievable!

I am obsessed with skincare, as said many times, so naturally I wanted to find a new product which cleanse, clarifies and detoxifies my skin! My partner actually spotted it, brownie points for knowing what I love and listening to all the charcoal talk (aha), as I was looking at the L’oreal skincare range, I picked it up and became curious.. I have never seen charcoal in popular top brands, it’s normally found in smaller brands and have been popular due to this reason, the before and after, after using unknown brand products with miraculous results.

Moreover, realistically, after 2 days, you’ll notice a significant difference. Your pores are much clearer, skin looks hydrated and smooth; this product is a great for those who want to continue to eliminate imperfections.

Product Description

“Introducing the first ever face masks from L’Oréal Paris. Their latest skincare innovation combines three powerful pure clays to unmask beautiful skin. L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask 50ml is enriched with Black Charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out impurities. The creamy texture of this deep cleansing face mask detoxifies the skin’s surface and works deep into the pores, leaving the skin looking clarified and beautified.Smooth a layer onto your skin and experience the relaxing fragrances..”

What I truly love about the product:

Surprisingly, easy to put on, it is quite runny, so you only need two small pea amount in your hand. I’ve read numerous reports on this product, so once having it in my hands I was more tan eager to test it out!

Easy to smooth around your face. It’s quite soothing!

Becomes a clay mixture and cleanses face well. Which is a bonus, you can expand on how much you want, whether you want it to be a clay mix or just cleanser!

Doesn’t dry out your face, looks very healthy and smooth,  face is noticeably clearer .

Great price and no harsh smells! It’s a great price for what its worth!

Evens the skin tone; especially for those whom have lighter skin in the winter days such as myself!
Leaves a nice glow. I’ve had many compliment and girl, I know you will too!

I have had no reaction to this product at all, no redness or anything similar.

Lastly, feels squeaky clean and no dirt in pores!

Though I use this 3 times a week every week and despite having sensitive skin I have had no drying of the skin. After this product, I apply my thin facial moisturiser. Of course everyone’s skin is different, so you can adjust your applications accordingly, use toner, different types of moisturiser, but this is my experience with it. This will be my new go to face mask/ clay mask. It is good value for money and it really works with no adverse side affects, highly recommend!

Teeth Whitening Charcoal Powder.. (A God send)

Natural Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitener Powder Found On Amazon.COM

Real definition guys and gals.. :”Activated charcoal has been used for medicinal purposes since the 19th century. It is made using carbon, which is combined with different gases and exposed to very high temperatures. Through this process, called activation, the carbon develops pores (little pockets of space on its surface) that vastly increase the surface area of the nutrients. It is this surface area that makes activated charcoal so popular with consumers, due to its supposed ability to catch chemicals and toxins in your body..”

I’m not going to lie, it’s messy (af) literally my whole bathroom turned into black powder and it made me freak out. But realistically after brushing and leaving it in for a good 5 minutes then wash it thoroughly. I saw a difference. Astonished after a week, a clear difference. The powder is extremely black on my teeth as shown in the glamourous hilarious pictures above and mouth and to be honest I was SO worried about my teeth and mouth since I thought they might be dyed.. It took a good few gurgles to get rid, so brush it out properly! However, my teeth showed immediate effect.. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and my teeth looks noticeably white.

This is carbon particles (charcoal) that has been activated graft absorb stains and toxins so that it whitens teeth to its core. It is supposed to show a huge difference after a week, but I saw a huge difference after using it twice. TWICE?!

I would recommend to use it twice a week alongside your normal top toothpaste as it can be abrasive (and wear the teeth enamel) if severely overused.

Activated charcoal is not damaging to your health unless ingested in extremely large amounts. When used in the mouth it is perfectly safe and in fact will absorb bad toxins and bacteria from the mouth improving your gum health and breath!

Organic and 100% natural…

Here’s how you do the activated charcoal tooth whitening
  • Brush or clean your teeth as normal.. 2 mins right babes?!
  • Mix together 1/2 tsp activated charcoal powder with about 1/2 Tbsp water (exact measurements are not necessary, but I do recommend mixing it with the water first, or else you might accidentally inhale some activated charcoal powder and cough for a while).
  • Swish it around in your mouth for a good 30 seconds.
  • Hold it in front of your front teeth for 5 minutes. Max 10!
  • Rinse your mouth – extremely well. It may take a good mintue.. You’ll see why.

Now get those nashes white! You know you want to..

I need to definitely try the activated charcoal. Such a great alternative to white strips. I’m obsessed with the L’Oreal masks, I have every single one! Haha. Thanks for the guide!!

I love the face mask from L’Oreal! I’ve never tried the powder for the teeth, I might just have to, I’m hearing more and more good things about it.

I purchased the masks from this range but haven’t tried them yet as I’m also a bit of a skincare junkie and have so many products in the queue before them! Curious about the charcoal powder too but definitely can see that it could be messy as you mentioned. I use baking soda which tastes gross but also works well and is all natural!

These products for sure seem to be worth trying. I’ve always wanted to try charcoal whitening for my teeth, and you cannot ever have too many good facial masks. Personally I’ve relayed mostly on one product I’ve loved for years but I love trying new ones though. 🙂

I have tried the Loreal charcoal mask but feel like it doesn’t act well with my skin – the red mud mask from the same brand works wonders! I am Bengali and the men and women from generations before me have used charcoal on their teeth for centuries! I can remember my grandad doing it when I was younger and scaring me!

  9. March 27, 2018 / 2:55 pm

I haven’t gotten brave enough to try charcoal on my teeth yet, but I may need to give it a try just to say I did! Ha!

  10. March 27, 2018 / 6:08 pm

This looks like a great product that you will get a lot of use out of. Cannot wait to try.
